Over all it is a very good oven. its simple to use and easy to understand. The only bad thing is it is poorly insulated especially on the top, anything that is left on the top will be 300C with in a minute or 2.

I own two of these. The first works ok but I had to tweak/bend the door to stop it from clanking and rubbing the side of the knob controls. The gap between the door and the buttons, on the front of both u its, is nowhere near parallel. The second unit I returned three times. The first had a fan that was beyond loud and rattled. All three units I received as replacements had issues with the door alignment. Most rubbed and one had to be pushed forceably closed. The doors are riveted on but the real issue is underneath. The bottom is not one piece and a seam is directly in line with the door and knob control in the front. What this means is i can take one finger and gently lift the unit. The whole unit flexes and the gap will widen accordingly. It is a weak point which causes a slight sag and many issues with the gap not being even and the door not closing correctly. Tonight topped the list. I hear something drop as the door is closed and think nothing of it. aFter I choose it a second time I hear it a again. I go to open the door and the handle comes off. Metal screws into a plastic handle. I tried screwing them back in however they just spin. The best part is once the handle comes off the whole top part of the glass door begins to separate. Both units still bake and toast fine. The quality control is abhorrent and severely lacking. Even on the better of my two units the door still doesn't line or close up as you would expect it to. My recommendation would be use one piece of metal on the underside and provide some structural stiffening. I will be seeing about an exchange as the item is only 4 months old. If I can get a replacement, and not run across the same issues then maybe this was just a bad batch. Otherwise i will take my losses and move on from the kitchenaid brand. Mike
