We needed to replace our built-in microwave. Originally installed in 1996, no parts were available. Since it was a "built-in", the replacement microwave and matching trim kit had to fit the pre-existing cutout in cabinet. This model and trim kit was an exact match size-wise for my original GE JET1540. Installation was straightforward. Very happy with end result. The trim kit was a little overpriced, being all plastic (original was metal) - and it sticks out with "vent holes" quite visible from the sides. But overall, it looks nice and functions perfectly.

This unit replaces a similar one purchased 3 years ago which developed rust patches all along the seams. I love the product since it matches my other Profile appliances, but now after only a month of use, this one has developed a problem with the open latch. I’m concerned about GE’s reliability & quality.
